External PIT tags
Hallprint is able to produce a range of external tags with PIT tag capability e.g. plastic tipped dart tags and T-Bar tags. Like all of our tags these are custom made to order. They are only available in FDX-B 134.2 Khz ISO 11784/11785 format (unique number only). The double anchor T-Bar (type TDBA-PIT) and large plastic tipped dart tag versions (type PDAT-PIT - shown below) of these tags have both proven to be very popular with researchers studying freshwater salmon movement where tag visibility is advantageous and/or there are food safety concerns with implantable tags. There have been many adaptations and applications of these including as removable tag modules and hook tags (shown below); please enquire if you have a potential application to discuss as there are many variations possible if PIT tag capability is important.
